Agenda

Medicine for the People working group is starting up. Sharon is point person.

Peace and Justice Center has asked us to join PAJOLA (Peace and Justice Organizations Linking Arms) They have a coordinating council that meets and 3 times a year they have a potluck. We need to find out what are our obligations as part of PAJOLA? Is there an agenda to view ahead of time? Amalia will attend coordinating council meeting and bring any issues back to the group. Sienna will ask Sue for more clarity. Group wishes to wait before we are more “publicly listed”.

Unitarian Fellowship will meet at P+J on Dec. 30th. They are asking (un)Occupy to provide a speaker from 11-12. After that they have a potluck. We agreed to send Amalia as a speaker. We will look for others who can attend as part of a panel….They wish to hear about events at Pine Ridge. There will be a potluck afterwards and so NO GA will be held that day.

NM Center for Poverty Law will be at the Roundhouse on Jan. 15th. They are going to have a flash-mob. Gov. Martinez is not committed to the Medicaid expansion. NM and West Virginia are the states with the most uninsured people. NM Center for Poverty Law is hoping to bring visibility to the vulnerablilty of so many folks here in NM.

We discussed  their plan to have a flashmob on Jan. 15th at the Sate of the State Address where the Gov. addresses the legislature. Transportation was offered by NMCPL. After discussion we agreed to aupport this action.

They are asking folks to be ready for the flashmob at 10:15AM at the roundhouse. Practice and meet up in Santa Fe at 9:45 AM. Perhaps we should try to have a practice run before that date.
