IMPORTANT: THE DATE FOR THIS ACTION IS Tuesday Nov. 25th, 2014, THE DAY AFTER THE ANNOUNCEMENT THAT THERE WILL BE NO INDICTMENT OF DARREN WILSON.

Michael Brown was murdered on August 9th by Ferguson Police officer Darren Wilson. Activists in Ferguson are expecting an announcement very soon about whether or not Darren Wilson will be indicted or not. The outlook for justice in Mike Brown’s case is not good.

At 6:00pm on Tuesday Nov 25th, at Central and San Mateo, We will demonstrate in solidarity with Activists fighting against police violence in Ferguson, whether in rage about the Grand Jury’s decision, or in support of continued struggle for liberation.

We will give notice on the exact date as soon as we know, see you in the streets.10422272_747295505340393_4371821205260959224_n
Here is our statement:
Dissent Decree:
(un) Occupy Albuquerque collectively decided to take to the streets to disrupt the continued tolerance of a racist, violent, and unjust police state. We refuse to let things be “business as usual” while so many continue to be targets of state violence. We oppose a system where APD can deny Jonathan Mitchell life-saving treatment from violence inflicted by a vigilante; where Mary Hawkes can be targeted and brutally murdered; where Mike Brown can be framed, murdered, and left in the streets for four hours; where the state of Mexico can disappear 43 students; and where Israel can massacre over 2,000 civilians in the Gaza strip.
While we want an indictment of those perpetrating such violence, including police officers, we also recognize this solution from the state, detracts from the work of uprooting systematic state violence. A state mandate, be it an incitement or APD-DOJ consent decree, will not change this characteristic of a capitalist government. We take to the streets to disrupt business as usual, to stand in solidarity with the people of Ferguson, and the people in Albuquerque that are targeted for police violence daily.
