UNM Mic Check, Arrests, Solidarity Event, and Building Alliances
We discussed the Thursday protest and march against violence and for freedom of speech. We mentioned how various folks in ally groups have requested that we diversify speakers. We discussed how few people participated in the march than in the initial rally. We noted the importance of networking and supporting other social justice groups, using the Friday Coming Out of the Shadows event as an example.

Facebook
We talked about the dangers of online arguments, especially the petty back and forth. The internet fosters racism, sexism, homophobia, and so on. While we didn’t reach a complete consensus against online debates, as a group (un)Occupy Albuquerque emphasizes face-to-face interactions over electronic interaction.
Future Direct of the Movement
We went around in turns and shared our visions. We discussed environmental degradation, immigrant rights, critical consciousness raising, and letting the movement here develop organically.
