Working Groups

Walk to Santa Fe for 1/17: No anti-pedestrian laws known. The walk will start at 8:30am at Yale Park on Saturday, January 14. Support welcome.

Anti-Capitalist: This working group is planning for the January 17 action and interested in participating in the general assembly that will be held that day.

Foreclosure: Maria Lena Guevara has asked for the support of this working group and (un)Occupy Albuquerque. She’s under foreclosure proceedings but has at least six months. She and other homeowners are going to the Bank of America financial clinic from January 19 to January 21 at Menaul and Louisiana. On Thursday, the (un)Occupy Albuquerque general assembly decided to replace the January 19 GA with an action at this BoA event. We will hand out fliers about foreclosure and hold signs on the street. We will do the same 8-10am on January 20.

New Mexico Action Coalition Meeting at 3pm on Monday, January 9.

Bailing Out Loren: We will try to contact Loren Monday or Tuesday to whether he wishes to be bailed out.

Jan 17: We decided the group dislikes the idea of having one person present a unified history (un)Occupy Albuquerque. We would prefer to have a general assembly in which people can share their personal experiences. We intend explain our policy against having one person speak for the entire group at the GA in Santa Fe.

Meeting Schedule: We decided to keep the current GA schedule of Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Our meeting on Tuesday, January 10 will be at the Albuquerque Center for Peace and Justice while the Thursday between will be at Frontier.

Proposal: We discussed having a leaflet to hand out about the reason for our name change to (un)Occupy as well as an online discussion forum and contact of people interested in conversing face to face.
